  • Health Limitations

After treatment, most individuals need ongoing help to develop and practice healthy habits. David Malow Recovery Coach offers a package of services designed to help our clients embrace a new healthy lifestyle that is substance free. Our services include:

  • Coaching to create productive new habits that foster abstinence from drugs and alcohol.
  • Mentoring to develop a relationship that is safe for clients to discuss their challenges in recovery

  • Intervention when an individual needs outside help to face his or her addiction
  • Treatment Placement when the client needs inpatient detoxification services to help stop substance abuse
  • Provide a Sober Companion to accompany client to events that might trigger relapse. Having a Sober Companion is particularly important if the individual has experienced a relapse after addiction or alcohol treatment.
  • Safe Transport to events to support continued sobriety
  • Family Support when a loved one returns from a treatment facility. We also educate the family about addiction, treatment, and the recovery process
  • Case Management for clients who need a more intensive level of care

Establishing A Safety Net To Aid Recovery

Our Safety Net plan is an extension to residential treatment that provides clients with the strong level of support and accountability they need to fulfill the aftercare recommendations they received in treatment. The program requires that individuals take steps such:

  • Attend 12 step meetings, Smart Recovery, or Refuge or Celebrate Recovery meetings
  • Work with a therapist, psychiatrist, or after care provider
  • Submit to drug testing

Participation in these available resources facilitates recovery while making individuals more accountable for their role in restructuring their lives. We provide families, treatment providers, the support network, and even employers with reports of the client’s progress. When an individual is successful, they not only feel more confident that they can recover, but they prove to others that they are worthy of trust.

Most participants stay in Safety Net for 12 months, but shorter terms of 3 to 6 months or 18 to 24 months are available. Typically, clients meet with the Recovery Coach three times per week for an hour wherever is convenient. No matter what time of day, our coaches are available to you.

Keys To Successful Recovery

Safety Net facilitates successful sober aftercare through contact, monitoring, and holding participants accountable, Recovery must be the first priority but jumping back into work and other circumstances can be overwhelming and lead to relapse. We can provide a Sober Companion or Recovery Coach who helps a client structure their new found life in a way that is manageable yet productive.

These coaches teach the client how to prioritize tasks and cope with pressure, as well as self-care which may include developing healthy eating habits, keeping their living space clean, using appliances they may be unfamiliar with, and keep a daily calendar or planner to keep track of daily goals and tasks.

When the client is diligently practicing this new way of living, it is a significant self-esteem booster and they start to see their self-worth in a way they never had previously. Having that extra push and a teacher side by side with them will give them the encouragement to continue taking opposite action and getting these tasks done.

Having a Sober Companion or Recovery Coach shows commitment, dedication, and surrender to a new journey. Being humble enough to have a guide assist you or loved one on this new path shows courage and strength. These individuals in the recovery field are dedicated to helping assist in saving the lives of so many hopeless individuals. Having another person alongside who is compassionate with the client’s process is priceless.
